Where Trakkr turns visibility gaps into articles: ideas, drafts, live articles, and campaigns, with publishing and citation tracking attached.

On this pageThe four stages

Create is where Trakkr turns your visibility data into articles. It sits at /create, listed as Create in the sidebar, and it holds the ideas your data produced, the drafts being written, the articles that are live, the campaigns that group them, and your templates.

Open it when a question you should be winning is being answered without you. The Ideas list has usually already named it, with the evidence attached.

Writing needs owner or editor access on the brand. Generating needs an active trial or paid access, and paid plans add credits and publishing features. Anyone with read access can browse the tabs. White-label client portals do not get this surface at all.

The four stages

The page bar reads Create, with the day the ideas' scan data runs to once it is known, an Export button for the tab's CSV formats, Settings, and a green Write button. Below it are five tabs: Ideas, Drafts, Live, Campaigns and Templates. The first four follow an article from idea to result.

StageWhat it holds
IdeasGaps surfaced from your visibility data: prompts, citations, Reddit, crawler hits, AI referrals. What to write next.
DraftsArticles generating, or written and waiting on you.
LiveArticles with a live URL, watched for AI citations from the moment they ship.
CampaignsTopics you are writing to own, measured against a coverage baseline frozen when the campaign starts.
TemplatesThe section structures the writer reaches for. See Templates.

The columns change with the tab. Ideas compares each campaign or article, your place on its prompts, visibility, named-first counts and AI volume. Drafts shows Status, Words and Updated. Live shows each article with its stage, who cites it, its citations, the prompts it won, and when it was published and first cited. Ideas explains how the backlog is built and how to read it.

Writing an article

Two ways in. From a single article on the Ideas tab, use Write article, which starts the article straight away in the idea's own format. For a campaign, use Write the campaign, which asks you to name it first. From the header, Write opens the composer, Write for an article (Shift+Cmd+W), or More ways to write → A campaign (Shift+Cmd+C).

A single article walks through Title, Setup and Review. A campaign also asks for its name and brief. Entering a title manually still starts generation; it does not create a blank article. Setup is three choices.

ChoiceWhat it does
TemplatePicks the section structure. Seven presets ship, from Comparison Roundup to FAQ, plus anything you built in Templates.
Length900 to 2,400 words. 1,400 is the default. Choose a length that fits the question.
DestinationAn optional connected site. Leave it empty and the article saves as a draft.

The review step restates the title, template, length, destination and the credit cost before anything runs.

Generation happens in five passes, and the article page shows which one is running: Research, Draft, Enhance, Verify, Score. Words stream into the page as they are written, so you can read the opening while the rest is still being built. A typical article takes a couple of minutes. If a run fails, the article page offers Retry generation and the credit goes back.

What a draft is built from

A generated article is only as good as what you gave it. Everything in Settings on this page feeds the draft, grouped into How it writes, What it knows, Where it goes and Agent.

SettingWhat it contributes
Brand and languageName, language, and the words your brand uses or avoids.
VoiceFinished writing you paste in, so drafts match your cadence and sentence shape. See Writing style.
MessagingCTA, positioning, compliance mode, and comparison context for decision-stage pages.
AudienceBuyer profiles and country guidance that shape hooks and objections.
Facts and sourcesData points, expert quotes, methodologies and documents. See Knowledge base.
Your site's pagesThe sitemap and rules used for internal links.

Templates feed the draft too. Open them from the Templates tab in Create. See Templates.

Trakkr adds one input you did not supply: the pages AI engines currently cite for that exact query, with the snippet each engine used. The writer sees who is winning the answer today and writes against that bar.

Publishing and what happens next

Trakkr is not a CMS. Publish on an article offers three routes.

RouteWhat happens
Push to your siteLands as a draft post on a connected WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or GitHub site. Review and publish there, then verify the public URL on the article.
ExportCopy Markdown, copy HTML, or download the file. Add the live URL afterwards so citations count.
Already live somewherePaste the URL. Trakkr checks the page and starts matching citations now.

Connecting a site is covered in Sites. If you export and forget to come back, Trakkr scans your sitemap for a page whose slug matches an unbound article and offers it as a one-click suggestion.

Once a URL is bound, the article gets a Performance view: citations earned, engines citing it, queries won, AI crawls, and a timeline from publish to first crawl to first citation. The same page also joins your Pages records and its citations appear in Citations.

Letting the Agent write

The Automation section in Settings hands the loop to the Agent. You set how many articles per week, which signals it may draw from, the bar a draft must clear, and what it does when a draft is finished.

Approval modeBehavior
Review before publishingDrafts queue on your Drafts tab. You publish on your own schedule.
Auto-publish strong draftsHigh-confidence drafts ship to your connected site without review.
Keep as drafts onlyDrafts stay in Trakkr. Nothing publishes automatically.

You can also set a monthly credit cap and a balance at which the Agent pauses itself.

Article credits

Each full generated article reserves one credit, whether it starts from a row, the composer, a campaign or the Agent. Generation needs an active trial or paid access. Growth normally includes 25 and Scale 100; add-ons and managed accounts can change the balance. Credits are shared by the billing account across its brands. The composer shows the cost before it runs, and the header warns you when the balance is getting close to what you have selected.

A failed generation is refunded automatically. If you run out, Settings → Plan and billing sells extra articles as a recurring pack or a one-off top-up.

Common questions

Is this just ChatGPT with extra steps?

The difference is the inputs. A blank chat prompt has no context, so it writes what everyone else writes. Create assembles your knowledge base, your voice profile, your template, your site's internal links, and the pages AI engines already cite for that query, then writes against them. The model doing the drafting is one part of a longer pipeline.

Do I have to use the generator?

You can write and publish in your own editor or CMS. The current composer starts generation, so it is not a blank manual editor. On a paid plan, you can bind the corresponding live page to an existing article record. To investigate other pages on your site, use Pages.

Which plan do I need?

Generation needs an active trial or paid access, and owner or editor rights on the brand. Campaigns, section rewrites, CMS publishing, live URL tracking and paid settings need paid access. Articles explains the allowance and limits.

How long does an article take to write?

Usually a couple of minutes across the five passes. Longer targets and large knowledge bases take more. The page streams as it goes, so you can start reading before it finishes.

Why is my new article not showing in Citations yet?

First confirm the public URL is bound to the article and check its URL health. Citation evidence can take time to appear and is not guaranteed. The Performance view shows recorded crawls where tracking is connected, but a crawl does not prove the page was used in an answer. Compare access, relevance and competing sources before deciding what to change.

Can I edit an article after it generates?

Yes. The article page is editable block by block. Paid accounts can also regenerate a section's body prose. Every save writes a checkpoint you can restore later. Review edits in Trakkr and update the live CMS page separately.
