Ideas

The backlog of articles worth writing, grouped into campaigns, with your place on each prompt, who AI names first and estimated AI volume.

On this pageWhere ideas come from

Ideas is the first tab in Create. It lists the articles Trakkr suggests you write next. Most sit in campaigns, and each article targets a prompt where AI answers without you or names someone else first.

Each idea comes from a signal in your own data, such as a citation gap or a weak prompt. Recommendations are the exception: Trakkr infers those, with no observation behind them yet.

Where ideas come from

The Signal filter in the toolbar names what found each idea, and By signal in Group ideas sorts the list by it.

SignalWhat it means
Citation gapsQueries where competitors are cited before your brand.
Prompt weaknessTracked prompts where your position is missing or low.
Query gapsSearch queries AI engines ran while answering without you.
Reddit demandHigh-signal threads drawing competitor attention.
Crawler opportunitiesHot or orphaned pages on your site worth refreshing.
AI referral expansionPages already getting AI traffic and worth expanding.
RecommendationsInferred ideas without observed evidence yet.
Custom entriesTitles you added directly in the composer.

Reddit and crawler ideas depend on data from those sources. A brand without it has no ideas from them, and the other signals still work.

Reading the table

The page opens with What to write next. It shows how many articles are waiting to be written, how many the latest scan added, and a line on who AI names first on the prompts those articles target. Under it is a row of squares for each campaign, one square per prompt. The Start with panel names the unstarted campaign with the most estimated AI searches, with a Write the campaign button.

Below that, the toolbar has five views, each with a count: All, In campaigns, Single articles, Quick wins and Dismissed. It also has a search box, the Signal filter and Group ideas. The table lists campaigns first, then single articles.

ColumnWhat it shows
Campaign or articleA campaign's name, with a line on how many prompts it covers and who AI names first on them. For a single article, its title.
Your place on its promptsOne square per target prompt, showing where your brand sits in the answer. A single article shows its one square and the prompt. The key under the table explains the squares.
VisibilityA campaign's visibility score on its prompts, with a trend line once there are enough weekly readings. Select the score to open its working. A single article shows your rank on its prompt instead.
Named firstWhich brands AI names first on those prompts, and on how many. Select it on a campaign row to see the prompts behind it. Narrow screens hide this column.
AI volEstimated monthly AI searches across the prompts. Select the heading to reverse the sort.
ProgressA campaign's live, drafting and to-write counts. A single article shows To write, or Writing once you start it. Narrow screens hide this column.

Select the arrow on a campaign row to open The plan: its articles in order, four at first, then N more articles. Single articles show five at first, then N more single articles.

Rows group by campaign by default. Group ideas also offers By signal, By potential and Flat list. A brand with no campaigns yet shows a flat list. The header Export button downloads the ideas on screen as a CSV.

Quick wins and potential

Some ideas are flagged as quick wins. The flag is deliberately rare. It means the scan judged that the brand almost certainly already has standing on the query, usually a direct comparison against a named competitor or its own core category, and that one focused page might flip it. Open them from the Quick wins view. A single article shows a Quick win tag.

By potential puts ideas in High, Medium and Low potential groups. They come from a priority score between 0 and 100, where 60 and above is High, 30 and above is Medium and the rest is Low. The page does not show the score itself. The CSV export includes it as score.

Opening an idea

Select a campaign row to open its drawer. The up and down arrows walk the campaigns, and the drawer shows your position, such as "2 of 5".

SectionWhat it holds
FiguresYour visibility on the campaign's prompts, with its trend, and the estimated AI volume a month.
Why this campaignTrakkr's reasoning for the campaign, and which brands AI names first instead.
Target promptsA grid of your place on each prompt, one column per AI. Select a square to read that answer.
The planEach article with your place on its prompt and its status.

The foot has Write the campaign and what it will cost in Create credits. The menu at the top of the drawer has Write one article and Dismiss. A campaign that has started shows Open the campaign instead, and the campaign page writes the rest.

A single article opens a lighter drawer: your place on its prompt, its AI volume, Why this article, its target prompt, and Write article in the foot. Its menu has the row's other actions.

Acting on a row

Writing, dismissing and assigning need edit access to the brand. With read access you can browse every idea.

ActionWhat it does
Write articleOn a single article, writes one article straight away in the idea's own format. It uses 1 Create credit and opens the draft. It sits in the Progress column on hover, in the row menu and in the drawer.
Write the campaignOpens the campaign composer with the plan's titles, where you name the campaign before it starts. It sits on the plan, in the Start with panel and in the campaign drawer.
AssignIn the row menu, for brands whose team has another member. It promotes the idea to Actions and hands it to the teammate you pick.
DismissHides the row, and a toast offers Undo. Dismiss, and say why asks for one of four reasons: already covered, not our category, not this quarter, or the evidence looks wrong.

To act on several rows, tick their boxes. A bar appears with Dismiss, More and Write N. Writing two or more opens the campaign composer with those titles. If you do not have enough credits, the bar offers to write the top few. More also holds Promote N without generating (sends them to Actions), Copy N titles and Export selected as CSV.

Dismissals are not permanent. Select Dismissed in the toolbar to see what you hid, and use Restore on a row to bring it back.

When the list refreshes

An idea scan starts on its own after a completed report, and again in a daily pass at 05:00 UTC. It uses no Create credits.

Refresh ideas, the link beside the scan date at the top of the page, starts one by hand on a paid plan. The "No ideas yet" state and the More menu on the bulk bar have it too. A scan can start once every 30 minutes. If you try sooner, the link counts down, for example "Refresh ideas in 12m". The top of the page shows the date of the latest scan, and a count of the ideas it added.

A brand needs at least one active prompt and one completed report before ideation has anything to work from. Until then the tab says "Ideas start after your first scan" or "Track prompts to get ideas".

Common questions

Why is an idea here when we already have a page on the topic?

Usually because an engine is not citing that page. Coverage and citation are different things, and a page can exist, rank in classic search, and still never be quoted. Check the page in Pages to see which of its checks is failing before writing a second one.

What does "Named first" mean exactly?

It shows which brands AI names first on the prompts a row targets, and on how many of them, taken from the latest scan. These are the same results as Prompts. Your own brand appears too when AI names you first. It does not say which AI named which brand for one question.

Should I work top down through Potential?

Start with the Start with panel, which picks the unstarted campaign with the most estimated AI searches. Volume measures demand, not how winnable the spot is. Break the order when a lower row sits closer to your own expertise, or when a quick win is cheap to try.

Can I add my own idea?

Not as a row on this tab. Write in the page header takes any title you type and starts an article from it. It uses a credit and starts the article straight away, rather than adding a row to this list.

Do dismissed ideas come back?

Not on their own. A dismissal is stored for that query and signal, so the same gap from the same signal will not resurface in the main list. Open Dismissed to restore one.

Why did my idea count drop without me writing anything?

Each scan can change the list. Rows from different signals for the same query are merged into one, which lowers the count without any work on your side.
